Siopa na bhFiodóirí
Lisbeth Mulcahy, who is originally from Denmark, has been living in Chorca Dhuibhne, The Dingle Peninsula, with her Irish Husband Louis since 1975. This is also the year she started weaving under the tutelage of American weaver Joanne Hayes
Following an intensive course in Sweden in 1980 in weaving and textile theory, she developed her business to the point where she opened her workshop and shop in the centre of Dingle town in 1986. Today Lisbeth Mulcahy is one of Ireland's best known designer/weavers and tapestry artists.
Is as an Danmhairg ó dhúchas Lisbeth Mulcahy a tháinig go hÉire i 1965. D'aistrigh sí lena clan go Clochar, Baile an Fhirtéaraigh i 1975 agus do thosnaigh sí ag foghlaim an Gaeilge. Tá gaeilge líofa aici anois agus usáidtear Gaeilge sa t-siopa agus sa ceardlainn an méid agus is féidir.
All our shop staff either grew up in Dingle or have close family ties locally. They will answer any questions about the area, where to go and what to see. Lisbeth designs all the woven goods in the shop and makes the wall hangings in the weaving room upstairs in the shop.
